With so many needs in so many categories of education waiting to he addressed, it must be impossible to label Priority for any one. Because I am an artist, my attention is focused on the Art department, and it has been for a long time. To fill all the deficits in this curriculum presently, would ‘break the bank!' Putting the part time teacher on a full time salarv would be a start. Adding varied art classes at the high school is a longer range goal. Importing new ideas, buying new equipment and supplies, exercising flexibility in a fascinating, ever changing area of study, are three suggestions that could be implemented now.
A full time salaried art teacher, with an energetic volunteer parent network, and a plan for creative financing are three improvements that w ill not "break the bank."
I truly hope that the parents will show Harriet Rosenblatt some support. Thank You.
