Habitat for Humanity's first house building project in Rappahannock was quite successful in its first fund raising effort according to Robert Darby, coordinator for the project.

In [December he mailed out fund raising letters to about 750 people. To date with 96 responses, SI6.675 has been raised and another S2.650 has been pledged.

Mr. Darby said. "In m\ view this is an outstanding response." He said the group is still working on fund raising, and a second mailing to people not contacted before will go out shortly. In addition. Mr. Darby said he has been contacting businesses both inside and outside the county for support.
