In Rappahannock County Circuit Court last Friday , two men were sentenced to the penitentiary.
James Riley Williston, Jr., 27. of Washington, was sentenced to 18 years, with nine years suspended, in the state penitentiary . In addition. Judge W. Shore Robertson gave him six years to serve for being in violation of a 29-year suspended sentence for felonies for which he was convicted last March. Mr. Williston escaped from jail last June and committed more felonies, for which he received the 18 year sentence on January 20.
The felonies were committed at Wakefield Country Day School.
Commonwealth's Attorney Peter i.uke asked the court to find Mr. Williston in violation of his suspended sentence.
Mr. Williston’s attorney argued against the violation because his client had not been on probation when the crimes were committed. Judge Robertson ruled that Mr. Williston was in violation and sentenced him to the additional six years to serve in the' penitentiarv.
