Mayor Willis said he understood that and that was why he was asking for support from the town's boards and commissions.
The Zoning Ordinance includes setback requirements. To expand on site the church might have to apply to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a variance from setback requirements. The BZA is a "‘quasi" judicial body and an appeal from their ruling would be to the Circuit Court, not the Town Council.
The church has not yet made any decision on expansion plans. A meeting is scheduled for next week.
