I didn’t take issue with her—it wasn't the time or the place—but I hate to see TV in the classroom at all. It is such a passive device. I've never met a kid who watched quantities of TV who struck me as bright and well-adjusted. I agree that it's a great tool for controlling kids. I use it myself wfien I’m at wit’s end with James and his 3-yearold sister: stick in a Barney tape and I’ve got 30 minutes to myself.
