Park Cleanup and Potluck Dinner
Everyone who uses or loves the county park U.S. 211 outside Washington is invited to help clean it up from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday. The floods earlier this year have left it in a sad state, says Hunt Harris of the Ragged Mountain Resource Center. Bags will be provided. At the end of the cleanup, there will be a potluck dinner at the park pavilion to celebrate the occasion. Phone Mr. Harris at 675-1879 for more information.
Civil War Authors Weekend
Gray Ghost Vineyards is sponsoring one of the largest assemblies of Civil War authors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5 at the winery. Authors available for autographs, book sales and conversation will include Virgil Carrington Jones, Jim Moyer, Tom Evans, Dr. Kenneth MacAtee, William Page Johnson, John Divine, Nancy Baird, Alice Nichols, John Gott and Harold Woodward Jr. Three new books will be introduced for the first time that weekend.
There will be no charge for the event which will include tastings and sales of Gray Ghost wines. The winery was named in honor of the Gray Ghost of the South, Colonel John S. Mosby and is located on Highway 211, about 11 miles west of Warrenton, in Amissville. The weekend event will be held rain or shine. For more information, call the winery at 937-4869.
Class Reunion, Committee To Meet
The Rappahannock graduating class of 1981 is plaining their 15th year reunion in the coming months. If you have not returned your survey form, members are requested to do so as soon as possible.
