To the Editor:
A letter in your paper last week suggested that in regards to the school budget, more money does not necessarily produce better education.
While this is true, we need to be sensitive to the fact that there still exists a threshold beyond which it would be irresponsible to cut the budget further. The challenge, of course, is to be able to recognize when that threshold is reached. Unfortunately, it is not an objective exercise that results in a simple yes or no. It is a matter of opinion based on experience and the interpretation of whatever data may be available.
