was founded in 1899 by Mr. Hensche’s teacher Charles Hawthorne, a contemporary of Claude Monet. Mr. Hawthorne was interested in devising a teaching method for painters to learn to see and paint with the vision of the Impressionists. At the Cape Cod School he taught a new way of seeing and painting color that enabled the artisi to paint with the radiance of Monet.
