“We didn’t get the hits when we needed them” said Coach Donn Hackney. “We left eight runners on base. All we needed was one big inning to break the game open, but we didn’t get it.... It as a tough loss for Jon because he pitched a good game,” said Coach Hackney. “We’re getting better though; we’ve come a long way and we have a lot to be proud of.”

The Panthers lost to the Strasburg Rams at home on Friday by a score of 12-1.

“We were out hit” said Coach Hackney.

The Rams are the best team the Panthers have seen this year according to coaches Hackney and Settle. They described the Rams as a well disciplined team who make contact with the ball and will take advantage of mistakes.

Jon Digges hit a towering home run to left field in the third inning. This was his first of the season and the only Panther run.

According to Coach Hackney defensively the Panthers are making fewer mistakes and less costly ones. They are a team to watch, a young team that promises to get better as the season rolls on.
