observation from life rather than on imagination, theory, or memory. It relies solely on vision (teaching the student to see with an increased awareness) thereby catching the subtleties of light and color that are normally lost. Light affects color — an object appears to be different colors at different times of the day and under varying weather and seasonal conditions. The artist is taught to see the full-spectrum of color in objects. Students begin with preliminary training exercises followed by application to still life and landscape subjects. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is a lover of color and/or who wishes to be able to capture the radiant color of nature!
