Richard Lee Higdon, 31, of Fairfax, was arrested for possession of marijuana last Friday after having been stopped for a traffic violation by Deputy Connie Compton.
George Harold Grist, 34, was arrested and charged for driving while being a habitual offender. Deputy Ronnie Dodson caught Mr. Grist driving a truck on Route 669 in Amissville last Saturday.
There were several cases of vandalism to motor vehicles in the past week.
Mrs. Tearre, who lives on Seven Ponds Road in Amissville, reported that someone had smashed the windshield on her son’s vehicle with a big rock. Major MacWelch said that the Sheriffs Office does have some suspects in the case.
Last Wednesday, Greg Cahill of U.S. 522 in Huntly reported that someone had thrown a beer bottle into his vehicle, breaking the window.
A Ford Explorer which was parked at Massie’s Comer Saturday morning had two punctured tires, according to complainant Julian Brown. The Explorer belongs to his son. There are no suspects in the case.
