Mike Fronds, an award winning realistic landscape painter and art instructor, will conduct a three-day “plein air” Country Landscape Painting Workshop in oil or acrylic.

The workshop at Shimmering Meadows Farm in Slate Mills, Sept. 68, is designed to teach the fundamentals of landscape painting. Emphasis on color and design will be stressed. A master at demonstrating approach and technique, Mr. Francis will take the student step by step through the process from composition and drawing in to learning to see and use paint color to bring the painting to life.

He will reinforce his painting principles through the process of individual instruction and critique. The workshop is open to all levels of painting; however, familiarity witf^ the medium is required.

Mr. Francis studied at The Corcoran School of Art; received his B.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md. and his M.F.A. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He participated in advanced art studies at American University and independent study in Europe and Mexico. He has been a professional artist for over 24 years and has been instructing students in fine art classes and workshops for over 18 years. Currently he is a professorial lecturer in Fine Arts at George Washington University-and teaches landscape painting at The Art League School.
