that the Child Care and Learning Center is using the building now and said CCLC could work with the agency to include the nutrition site.
The council agreed that also the Planning Commission and Town Council will begin the process of amending the zoning ordinance to allow for adaptive reuse of the building.
In a telephone interview Brian Duncan executive director of the Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board said there are problems that have to be resolved before the nutrition site can be moved to the former Washington School. He said there is not yet a signed lease and there are problems of handicapped access there as well. He sa'id fundraising will also have to be done to show that the concept of having a space that is the seniors’ own but costs more can be successful.
He said the agency has arranged to move the nutrition site into the Washington Baptist Church, and can extend its stay there. He said he does not expect the nutrition site to return to Trinity once it leaves because of the lack of handicapped access.
