Thanked To the Editor: I would like to take advantage of this forum to express my gratitude to a number of people: First, many, many thanks to everyone who helped make Saturday’s Gymkhana a great success and benefit to the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire .Company. Thank you specifically to David and Dudley Semmes for the use of their beautiful Indian Run Farm and for their wonderful tent; to Julia Bennett for doing a little bit of everything; to Bill and Jeanne Jarrett for so kindly volunteering; to Frank Huff for manning the mike; to our wonderful judges, Nellie Bossett and Klara Kummli; to Prairie for a momentous job handling the paperwork; to Ann Pankow for donating many prizes and for continuously supporting all of the fire company’s equestrian endeavors; and to Settle’s Grocery for providing great sandwiches on short notice. Thanks, too, to all the participants who got into the spirit of the games and made it such a fun and safe day. On a less happy note, I would also like to thank everyone who stopped to help when my small white . pony got into trouble. Thanks specif-; . ically to John Critzer for literally sit-; ting with Fatima; to my neighbors • Bob and Sue Lane and Bryant Lee; and to the wonderful man (whose name I’ve unfortunately forgotten), who not only cared enough to stop and inform me of the problem in the _ first place, but also took his valuable 3 „ time to help me resolve it. It was an ; - unfortunate way to have this driven home, but it is wonderful to live in a small rural community where people . really do care about their neighbors.! • 1 SHERRY HAMILL-HUFFI * - Flint Hill; 1
