He said they are planning on using one room in the old school that has a washroom and toilets nearby. He said there is a new furnace in the old Washington School that will be satisfactory, but windows will have to be replaced or repaired. Also a ramp will have to be built from the parking lot to the front porch and the railings around the porch replaced.
He said there has been a lot of volunteer assistance offered, but fundraising will be necessary also.
The nutrition site has been making a payment to Trinity towards the church’s utility bills. The rent at the Washington School will be identical to that amount, but money will also have to be raised to pay utility bills at the old school building.
Mr. Soule said the local group must raise funds to convince the . Community Services Board it Will be possible, but once the seniors have their own space, there are many more possibilities for fundraising to continue the program.
