Misses Serena Waddell and Sharee Dunagan are leaving today, Wednesday, to enter Virginia Commonwealth University and Michael T. Wolfe leaves tomorrow to enter Virginia Tech. We wish all these young people much success in the future as they further their education.

Congratulations to Matthew Keller who is the winner of the 1996 Salem Ruritan Scholarship. The Ruritan Club held their picnic on Tuesday at which time this award was presented by Mr. William Gibbs to Keller who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Keller her in Boston.

Our' prayers go out to the young teens who were injured in an automobile wreck Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 13th on Turkey Ridge Road just a short distance from this writer’s old homeplace here in Boston. Several of the victims remain hospitalized and we truly pray that they all will recover soon.
