Under the 4th amendment of the U.S. Constitution everyone has a right not to be subjected to unreasonable search and seizure which is a basic right to be cherished. In the case of Mapp v. Ohio and other more recent U.S. Supreme Court cases rules have been established that prevent the prosecution from using any evidence in a criminal case that the court deems to be illegally seized. To fathom and understand the rule and its esoteric interpretations by the Supreme Court a police officer would have difficulty getting it right even if he had a lawyer orjudge riding with him in his cruiser.
