Shimmering Meadows Farm, located in the Virginia foothills, provides a variety of private landscape settings with rolling meadows and vistas of the Hazel River as it meanders through the terrain and between the farm’s trees. Fields of hay rolls, old bams, near and distant mountain views, and vineyards abound in the nearby serene topography. Added to this, the historic Slate Mills country church (founded 1855) with surrounding old homes, gardens and mountain views present additional and varied landscape painting opportunities.

The Art League School of Alexandria in cooperation with Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio will sponsor the Country Landscape Workshop which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The workshop fee is $195. Daily lunch and beverages will be provided. Participation is limited, so early enrollment is encouraged. For further information or to enroll, call the Art League School at (703) 683-2323 or Carol Vogel at 547-4385. A supply list and directions will be'sent with registration confirmation.
