James Washington

James Robert Washington, 89, of Viewtown, died on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at ©iilpeper Memorial Hospital.

He was retired from construction building.

He was a mejnber of Bethel Baptist Church in Clarksburg and was a native of Rappahannock County.

Survivors include one sister, Alice Irene Washington; three brothers, Strother Lee Washington feand Hugh Russell Washington, both of Culpeper and Louis Banks Washington of Arlington; two uncles, Armstead Banks Sr. of Remington and Charlie Washington of New York; four aunts, Mary Bailey of Warrenton, Emma Simms, Lora Majors and Charlotte Hill, all of New York and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville on Saturday, Jan. 4 with the Rev. Forrest Freeman, pastor and the Rev. Howard Frye of Nazareth Baptist Church officiating.

Interment was in the Washington Family Cemetery in Viewtown.
