There have been several incidents of larceny and vandalism in the county the past two weeks.
About $325 was reported missing from the safe at the Bleu Rock Inn on Dec. 27. The matter is still under investigation, and several people are being interviewed.
Janie Pullen of Washington reported on New Year's Eve that $530 was missing from from a Mason jar in her home. There are no suspects.
A car phone, owned by Connie Brown of Amissville, was taken o^ Dec. 29 from a vehicle parked at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Dept. „
Last Saturday, a stereo*-and tape player were taken from a car owned by Dale Schwiertzfager in Chester Gap. Sheriff Gary Settle said that an attempt to get fingerprints from the car was unsuccessful. There are no suspects.
Janet DeLong of Battle Mountain Road in Amissville reported that a shot from BB gun broke a window in her house on Dec. 27.
