The YIELD signs currently located on Route 606 at this intersection will be removed in 30 days.
Though justified by traffic counts, requests for this change in pattern had been denied earlier due to limited sight distance at the Route 641 north approach. This hazard has been eliminated by the removal of tree limbs near that location.
The "New Traffic Pattern" signs will be removed in approximately 60 days. According to VDOT, this gradual change was designed to allow time for local motorists to become accustomed to the new pattern.
VDOT crews also began work Monday on painting center and side lines on the newly paved sections of Business 211 in Washington.
