VDOT announced two changes in traffic patterns starting this week.
An additional STOP sign has been installed at the intersection of Main and Middle streets in Washington, making that intersection a four-way stop.
This change \vas requested by Town Council, and Bob Moore, Warrenton resident engineer, said the situation justified the change. Mr. Moore emphasized that VDOT does not create a four-w^stop under most situations, however, it is appropriate "for this particular location with the activities by pedestrians and traffic in close proximity."
Also beginning this Wednesday, Jan. 8, a STOP sign will be in place on Route 641 north, the Aileen Road, at its intersection with Route 606, the
