Del. Katzen met-with Rappahannock 'Voters-^in the county library Friday morning. A group of five people asked for his help in getting their bills from the Sperryville sewer system lowered. Ruth Kiger, Rachel Aylor, Dorothy Butler, Carl Menefee and Henry Townes said they could not afford the increase from $21.50 per month to $28.50 for each EDU (equivalent to a dwelling unit). Mrs. Kiger said one of her senior clients is living in a house with a granddaughter and is charged for two EDUs. She said the woman had to have her telephone disconnected to pay her bills.
Del. Katzen said he had informed Water and Sewer Authority treasurer Carson Johnson that grants from the state could be available to Sperryville to lower the bills being charged, but he had not received the information from Mr. Johnson he needs to go after the grant money.
Del. Katzen also met with School Superintendent David Gangel and parent Page Johanson about funds for the schools in the upcoming state budget. Del. Katzen said he would try to get more funds for Rappahannock County, but he will need to know where the
