To the Editor
On behalf of the board and staff of the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services, I would like to thank everyone who donated money, clothing, toys and food to provide a festive Christmas to our less fortunate citizens.
Every year we are touched by the generosity and kindness of this community as they go all out to help others. Obviously, I cannot name all the individuals who came forward, for there were many of them, but many thanks to all of you.
Also, many thanks to the Rappahannock Lions Club, Amissville Free Gospel Church, Trinity Episcopal Church and women's group, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Wakefield Country Day School at Huntly, and the Rappahannock County High School. Your gifts touched the lives of many families, elderly citizens, and children and made their lives more pleasant during the holidays. Not only were they able to enjoy the material gifts of the season but also the joy of feeling compassion and kindness from the community of which they are a part.
It is also very gratifying to our staff to see the community support our work in such an enthusiastic manner.
Again, thanks for your kindness and warmest wishes for the New year.
