Rappahannock News Staff Writer jt ->Nine people were injured in a two-car head-on collision on Route 611 in Amissville last Friday night. K -A 17-year-old boy from Chester Gap was charged with tecfcless driving following the wreck that sent Cathryn ^ Frazier, 42, of Amissville, and 8 months pregnant, to the hospital by helicopter. Luckily, her healthy baby girl was < (delivered by caesarean section. As of Monday, Mrs. Frazier fetill remained in the hospital, according to the Virginia |> State Police and is in stable condition. f ■ Mrs. Frazier was a front seat passenger in a 1984 two£ door Ford driven by her husband, county supervisor Ron { Frazier, 39, of Amissville. Their two children Ronald, 8, and: Kristin, 12, were both in the back seat; Mr. Frazier was i the only one wearing a seat belt. They were travelling on i Route 611 about 8 p.m. on Friday, when they were struck head-on by a 1988 four-door Chevy driven by a 17-year-old boy with four passengers — two girls, 14 and 15, and two • -boysj, also 14 and 15. ’ y' * According to Trooper M.A. Woodard’s accident report, • fhe, driver of the Chevy failed to negotiate a curve and sjnjck the Fraziers’ car head-on. The speed limit was 55 ; mph,’ but the maximum safe speed for that curve is 45 mph. - ACoprding to Trooper Woodard’s report, the teenager was (driving 50 mph and Mr. Frazier was going 45 mph. No one Was speeding and no alcohol was involved in the accident, said the report. » It is unknown to what extent the accident victims were Injured, but several were transported by ambulances to area hospitals. ; Jon Brandon, 42, of Sperryville, hit a deer on U.S. 211, >1 mile west of Route 678 in Amissville last Wednesday (evening with a 1990 Toyota pickup. According to Va. State Trooper A.W. Peery’s report, the deer entered the road from the median strip.
