SVFD Sponsoring Gun Lottery
The Sperry ville Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a gun lottery with 22 chances to win for only $10 per ticket. Drawings will run from April 1 to April 30 on week nights only. The winning number will be taken from the Virginia Pick-3 Lottery nightly drawing.
Tickets are available through the Company 2 membership, and will also be sold at the SVFD Food Booth at the Rappahannock Point to Point, March 1. For tickets or further information call Greg or Teresa at 9879024.
Shooting Match To Begin
The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company will begin their annual shooting matches at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. Rules are 12 gauge shotguns only, no sleeves or scopes. For more information call 9374110.
Beginners Yoga Course Underway
A five week yoga course for beginners will be each Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the Community Center, next to VDOT. The course began Feb. 26 and can be joined as late as March 5. Open classes for experienced students are currently offered Tuesday mornings, 9 a.m. at The Community Center and Thursdays, 7 p.m. at the old high school gymnasium. The course emphasizes stretching and breathing exercises for increased relaxation, flexibility and strength. Contact Ivan Ussach, certified instructor, at 987-8872.
