Thank you to all who offered condolences and brought food after the death of my uncle, J.D. Moore. Your love and support helped ease our loss.
Take time to call, write or visit a friend you have not seen at church or in the community recently just to let them know you are thinking about them. This was suggested through Amissville Baptist Church, but it certainly applies to any of us.
I hope you had time to visit the Girl Scout International Fair held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Culpeper County High School. All of the troops who participated were very creative in the displays of foreign countries. The „ booths provided information, food, flags or other wares of their chosen country. A Thinking Day ceremony was held after the fair. Sherry Wildman is to be commended for her hard work on arranging another fantastic day for our girls.
March 1 is the last Saturday the Rappahannock Athletic Association will hold registration for the 1997 season at the Rappahannock Library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
New players must bring a birth certificate in order to register. Returning players need only to verify the RAA records are correct. Each child should be present at the registration to try on the new shirts for size. Anyone who has not returned last year’s uniform must return it to register for the 1997 season.
Children who are 5 years old on or before Dec. 31, 1996, are eligible to play T-ball.
Registration fees until March 1 for the 1997 season is: $30 for each player in T-ball, Minor, Major and all softball; $40 for 13-15 year old BabeRuth; $60 for 16-18 year old Senior BabeRuth. Family discounts: $5 for second child, $10 for the third, and $15 for the fourth. Late registration from March 2 to the day of tryouts on March 15 will include a $15 additional charge to the normal registration.
