Marie Smoot
Mrs. Marie Jenkins Smoot, 73, of Culpeper died on Monday, Feb. 17 at the Culpeper Health Care Center.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1923, in Rappahannock County.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Janie Jenkins; her husband, William Franklin Smoot Sr. and a son, Donald Owens Smoot.
She is survived by two sons, William Franklin Smoot Jr. and James Russell Smoot, both of Culpeper; seven sisters, Martha Smoot of Winchester, Gladys Jenkins of Slate Mills, Ruth Leake of Culpeper, Margaret Weaver of Banco, Ethel Jenkins of Etlan, Nina Jenkins of Slate Mills and Nancy Meredith of Culpeper and two brothers, James Jenkins of Culpeper and Pete Jenkins of Etlan.
She is also survived by four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a step grandson.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Clore-Geest Funeral Home-Chapel with the Rev. Joe Hagan officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
