Zoning History

week’s meeting of the Rappahannock County Planning Commission heralded a first in county planning and zoning history — the Commission members passed the rezoning of a vacant property for which they have as yet no stated future use.
The decision came about as a result of a request by Micah and Vandy Solomon of Hint Hill for a rezoning of the Bradford House property, a one and a half acre property which fronts U.S. 522 across from Flint Hill Square. The Solomons want to convert the downstairs of the house, which is located on one acre, into professional office space thereby requiring the zoning to be converted from village residential to village commercial.
The Commission had no problem with that request. The discussion arose over the extra one half acre behind the property which also belongs to the Solomons and which is clear.
Since the property is bordered on one side by Horse & Hound and on the other by the Methodist Church and backed by the cemetery, the commission felt the request
