The houses that Mr. Etchells builds, he said, will be standing for a long time. “They are built very substantially and will last hundreds of years,” he said. His timber frame houses are in contrast to conventional construction, where everything is bought trom a store, he said. Homes of this type are not holding their value any more, he added. “Investing in a wellconstructed handcrafted home is a very sound investment,” he said.
“I have developed a style that seems to have a timeless quality to it but appears to be 200 years old,” said Mr. Etchells. He describes his houses as being aesthetically pleasing and very functional.
