He said he likes to work with the homeowner not only when designing the house but in doing the site development. “Your home should be an expression of yourself to a certain extent,” he said, and welcomes creative ideas from the homeowner. He does his own architectural drawings and only needs to have a certified engineer okay them and say they are structurally sound. The function of the house is important, he said, including how energy efficient it is and how comfortable it is to the homeowner’s lifestyle.
