She, also, gave an update on the renovation of Constitution Hall. The National Defense report, read by Mrs. Randolph Dixon, concerned job growth and job reduction, with many figures being contradictory.
Mrs. Kilby happily bestowed a 50 year pin on Mrs. Carl Longley who gave a little history of her past 50 years in the DAR, filling enjoyed being in the DAR. At the December meeting, Mrs. Norman Kloker had, also, received her 50 year pin and she amusingly told of her 50 years in the DAR.
On May 31, Mrs. Metzinger > reported that there will be a Genealogy workshop to be held at the Holiday Inn, Culpeper, for all of the chapters in District VI. Three persons well versed in Genealogy, will speak 1 and there will be a bookshelf filled with useful books on the subject.
The members were reminded of the March meeting to be Sunday, March 9 for the Awards tea when Good Citizen and other awards will be presented to area students.
