How would you like someone
to throw a beer can or garbage bag on your living room floor? We at Trash Free Rappahannock think of the county’s roadsides as part of our living room, our home, and we think it’s getting pretty trashy! Therefore, the committee for a Trash Free Rappahannock (TFR) is offering $10,000 at the rate of $3 per bag to people in the county who clean up the roadside litter that is turning Rappahannock into “Trashahannock.”
This is being organized as a “beat the clock” annual competition. The first one begins March 21 and ends April 18. If 3,333 bags have not been picked up by April 18, there will still be money left on the table that might have helped someone. The clock stops when $10,000 is due the collectors, or on April 18, whichever comes first. Here’s how you can help yourself and the county:
