There’s a demand (for the nursery), but if people don’t tell you what they want, you’re not going to meet that demand.”

He gets his merchandise from various places. In particular, he said, “Henry Eastwood has helped me out a lot. He carries some of the best maples.” Eastwood’s is located on Long Mountain Road. Another good outlet for Smoot has been the Long Mountain Nursery.

Smoot plans on offering fruits, vegetables, and farmfresh produce from local growers as well.
