Ben Jones (Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard) will team up with David Clanagan and Free Spirit as well as Yolanda Deane, Wanda Rutherford and many others for a benefit on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Sperryville Fire Department at 7 p.m.
The event is for Roger Rutherford, who has leukemia. Roger has volunteered with the Sperryville Rescue Squad for many years. Residents are encouraged to come out and support this worthwhile endeavor.
Vacation Bible School is underway at The Sperryville United Methodist Church and will continue through Aug. 20 each evening from 6:30 to 8:30. This year’s theme is “Footprints.”
Following the Friday evening program at the church everyone is invited to attend a covered dish/fellowship picnic at the home of Opie and Nancy Crawford. There will be games for the youngsters and adults.
