Three young men were injured in a one-car accident on Route 729 just north of Route 622 shortly before 7:30 a m. on Aug. 14. A 1981 Datsun being driven by 18 year-old Jason Brown of Washington ran off the road, crossed a river and hit an embankment. Damage to the car is estimated at $2000. The driver has been charged with reckless driving.
At 12:30 on Aug. 11, Stephen Greoler of Sperryville slowed down in his 1999 Plymouth on Route 231 just south of U.S. 522 for a goat on the side of the highway. Eighteen year-old Emily Sims, also of Sperryville, came up from behind and was unable to stop, rear-ending Greoler. Damage to Greoler’s vehicle was estimated at $6000. An estimated $2500 worth of damage was done to Sims’ 1987 Subaru. Ms. Sims has been charged with reckless driving.
