After apologizing for the call, Valerie Little of Amissville asked, in her charming English accent:
“A bird is building a nest in one of my hanging baskets. Should I stop watering?”
Good question.
First, however, I had to know the species. My guess: it was either a Carolina Wren or a House Finch. Both species tend to nest late in the season.
