Mayor Stew Willis doesn’t like the idea of taking out part of the retaining wall for a ramp. Peter Kramer commented that demolition includes two, possibly three, original buildings that he constructed. He asked the board, “Do you protect something 25 or 30 years old, or do you let it go?”
Barton commented that he saw no controversy, other than parking behind Clopton House and the retaining wall. The issue with the parking is that straightening the entrance would mean moving it to a location where the sidewalk is elevated above the street.
