The next meeting of the Amissville area Community Association will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
A committee is working to complete bylaws for the association which will be presented for adoption in the near future. If you would like to offer input, please call Interim Chairperson Steve Miller at 937-4298.

School Board members also expressed their thanks for the community’s involvement, and agreed to send the ad hoc committee’s recommendations to the Board’s Policy Subcommittee for further study. The Policy Subcommittee should report back to the full School Board at its December meeting.
Public comment focussed largely on the need to move from the acrimony that marked the initial discussions on Nov. 9 to a spirit of cooperation, though new assistant softball coach John Smythe expressed his feelings that he was the cause of the friction and that he could not understand how he could be perceived as a threat or as anything but an asset to the athletic program.
