Area merchants have an abundance to
offer for Christmas.
Christmas is only 24 days away and we are
encouraging county residents to shop locally.
This month, we will feature a shopping guide that highlights shops and restaurants that embody the essence of Christmas.
Residents may feel that they need to travel to the city in order to find the perfect gift. But our merchants offer many specialty gifts that are unavailable elsewhere. Among the plethora of available gifts are clothes, furniture, antiques, collectibles, books, decorative items, and house and garden items.
By speaking with merchants in this county, we have discovered that oftentimes a discount is available for local residents. You may want to inquire about a discount before making your purchase.
Another positive aspect about shopping locally is the lack of traffic. Consumers can avoid the frustrations and the higher risk of having an accident when but in congested areas. Shopping close to home could be safe in comparison.
The only frustration will come when you realize you have to travel in to the city in order to get a specific item that is not available here. A time saving tip: try to consolidate your trips by making a list. Once you have enough items on the list, plot a strategy and sail forth.
Another reason to shop locally is the support it gives our merchants. If we help to make them a success, then we are enriching our community by helping our own. The spirit of Christmas is giving. If we give to the local merchants, we will all reap the benefits.
