On Nov. 28 at 8:16 p.m. in Flint Hill, a driving under the influence arrest was made on Route 522. Stanley Kowalsky, 48, of Flint Hill was arrested. Due to his erratic driving, the driver was determined to be intoxicated.

On Nov. 28 in Chester Gap at 1:30 p.m., a man reported that his yard had been vandalized while he was away. The man reported someone had driven on his lawn, leaving deep tire tracks. Sheriff Larry Sherertz investigated and found that while the father ' was away, his son had organized a party.

On Nov. 25 in Viewtown, a car collided with a bear. The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Route 642. Deputies tried to locate the bear, but were not successful.

On Nov. 24 in Boston, a burglary occurred. A house which had been unoccupied for some time was broken into. An antique picture was stolen. Other items were moved around, as if someone had planned to come back for them. No evidence indicated the method of entry. There are no suspects and the case is under investigation.

On Nov. 23 at 10:58 p.m. in Sperryville, Penny Atkins of Sperryville was driving a ‘95 Jeep on U.S. 211. The driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve. The vehicle ran off the road to the right, struck a utility pole and overturned several times. The car was totaled, and the driver sustained minor injuries. The driver was speeding and charged with DUI. The utility pole the vehicle struck sustained $2000 worth of damage.

On Nov. 22 at 11:03 p.m. in Amissville, William Luck of Shenandoah was driving a ‘87 Pontiac on U.S. 211 when his vehicle ran off the road to the left, struck a bank in the median and overturned. The driver sustained visible injuries and was transported to the hospital. He was charged with reckless driving.

On Nov. 22 at 3:22 p.m. in Boston, Joy Best from Boston was driving a ‘93 Lexus on Route 604 when she swerved to avoid another vehicle. Best was driving 10 mph over the speed limit as she was coming up a hill
