Members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club met for their monthly meeting at the Washington Fire Hall on Nov. 17. Janet Eastham, Helen Fairfax and Edna Metzinger served as hostesses.
The speaker for the day was Ms. Karen Rexrode of Windy Hill Plant Farm in Aldie, Va. Ms. Rexrode suggested numerous droughtresistant garden plants and plant combinations to add seasonal emphasis to shade or sunny areas. Her suggestions for a shade garden included:
• Daffodil ‘Yellow Cheerfulness’ planted with Aquilegia candensis ‘Corbett’
• Tiarella or foam flower with Hosta ‘Fortunei albopicta’
