Balloons and Then Some, RCHS’s Transition Class, held their second annual open house, Tuesday, Nov. 23.

The students provided delicious refreshments and displayed numerous handmade items and baked goods for sale. Many community members came by to support the program and purchase early Christmas presents.

The group was surprised by a visit from Delegate Jay Katzen. Delegate Katzen has shown a special interest in this class after reading the article about their Bahamas adventure in the Virginia Journal of Education.

Delegate Katzen visited with students,, watched a video of the students interacting with the dolphins in Nassau, and purchased a vest and a raffle ticket on the quilt the students had fashioned.

Items are still available for sale in Room 23 of RCHS. Feel free to stop by anytime or call 987-8575.
