Just across from the rainbow (or the old stable), as you head through Sperryville toward the mountains, a relaxing experience awaits those curious enough to venture inside the RappahannocK Healing Arts Center.
Most feel it immediately as they enter, expressing a pleasant surprise at the tranquility, the calmness that exists in the surroundings with its gentle colors, its bubbling fountain and nonclinical appeal.
At present, eight professionally trained and qualified practitioners of various healing arts modalities share an intention to educate and serve area community members by offering some of the most upto-date complementary health care options available. This is evident by browsing through the reference library of diverse topics that are available for all to enjoy. Attending any one of a variety of educational workshops will immediately inform you that this is no ordinary health care facility. Hospital administrators and traditional health care professionals are among the ranks of those eager to learn how to bring these skills into the medical arena and emergency rooms.
All of the Center’s practitioners agree that physical 5;and emotional symptoms, v when paid attention to and not suppressed, can signal a wonderful opportunity for healing to take place on many levels. It is clearly recognized that no one fixes people here. There is only genuine, caring support offered, gentle touch, recommendations made for lifestyle changes and well-developed skills. Each person coming to RHAC enters a safe haven to explore their own courageous efforts and new possibilities to initiate change to feel better.
The concept of spirit, mind and body and holistic practices underscore the work at RHAC.. Practitioner Carol Lucking describes holistic medicine as “any therapeutic tool that takes the whole person into account during healing. We are the sum of all of our parts. We are not just physical
