Society to present musicals
Christmas Through the Centuries will be presented by the Front Royal Oratorio Society on Sunday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 11. The 7:30 performances will be held at Randolph-Macon Academy Chapel and Front Royal Presbyterian Church, respectively. The program will be directed by George Amos and accompanied by Mrs. Judy Connelly and a Brass Ensemble. For more information call Ann Andersen at 622-6974.
Playgroup moving indoors
The Mother’s Playgroup is moving indoors. The group meets at Trinity Episcopal Church on Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. A donation will be collected. For more information call Kathy at 987-9099.
PTO gift basket silent auction
The Rappahannock County Elementary School has an active and fun-filled PTO spearheaded by Jimmy Swindler, its president. One of the upcoming fund raisers that the entire community would enjoy is the Gift Basket Silent Auction.
Each of the grades at school has chosen a theme for their class, and the parents have been asked to donate items to put into baskets to fit the theme. The K-7 classes have chosen a theme for their class, and the parents have chosen the following themes in ascending order: A Treat for Mom, Arts & Crafts, Tea Time, Sweet Tooth, Apples, Rainy Day, Couch Potato and Gardening.
The gift baskets will be on display in the front lobby weekdays through Dec. 6. Anyone interested in finding a unique present for someone on your holiday shopping list is welcome to come in and make a bid. Stop by the main office for location of baskets.
