Civil War Round
Table to meet
* < J The Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table will meet to hear a talk on General Robert E. Lee on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Rappahannock County Library, rather than the regular meeting place at the Old Sperryville Bookshop. No reservations are necessary.
The speaker will be Dr. John Tole, who recently completed his term as president of the Rappahannock County School Board. Dr. Tole will discuss the character and leadership qualities of General Lee, who commanded the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. The Round Table members also will elect officers for the year 2000. Membership dues for the year<will be collected at the meeting. Dues are $15 for individuals and $25 for married couples, with no dues for anyone under 18 years of age.
Association to meet
The next meeting of the Amissville Area Community Association will be held Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Amissville United Methodist Church. The agenda will include nomination of new officers and a discussion of growth and development impact and alternatives.
