The latest release of his trio recordings, “All Through the Night," blends modem jazz with the American popular song. Like his earlier albums, it has received accolades from the critics. The current issue of Jazz Times says, “Here is a pianist who swings naturally, without either pretension or disingenuous laxity. Charlap treats classic, yet not overplayed melodies, and spins off on delightful, controlled tangents, technical aplomb and creative spirit intact. For this, he has won growing admiration from musicians, critics and others.”
Jazz has proven to be especially popular in Little Washington and reservations are recommended for Bill Charlap’s concert at The Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 3. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students 18 or under.
