Solving the crime was relatively easy for the SherifFs Office, according to Sherertz. “Something like this is a sensational sort of event in a small community like ours,” said Sherertz. “The people involved will brag about what they’ve done, and word gets out.”
The reward totalling $1500 offered by an insurance company and a local resident played no part in solving the case, according to Sherertz. Furthermore, the Sheriff’s Office had nothing to do with the reward.
