AS IF A DREAM
It is often said that death is much like sleep. Yet, while we may look upon death with much trepidation, we often welcome sleep as a comforting repose. Thomas Wolfe took comparative note of death and sleep with the words, “In sleep we lie all naked and alone, in sleep we are united at the heart of night and darkness, and we are strange and beautiful asleep; for we are dying in the darkness, and we know no death.” It just may be that one is as normal to the experience of life as the other. The only difference may rest with our perceptions. Yet, each may induce a dream state of liberated souls.
