Wayne Dodson

Maurice Wayne Dodson, 50, of Madison died Friday, Jan. 7.

He was bom Aug. 18, 1949 in Charlottesville. He was a son of the late John S. Dodson and Pearl Elizabeth Atkins Dodson.

Mr. Dodson was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation in Culpeper and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Madison.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jenkins Dodson of Madison; two daughters, Michelle Lee Woodward and Marcy Ann Woodward; a son, Matthew Wayne Dodson, all of Madison and three grandchildren, Justin Woodward, Jeremy Woodward and Jerry Woodward Jr., all of Madison.

Additional survivors include two brothers, John Marshall Dodson and Netus S. Dodson, both of Sperryville and three sisters, Janet Elizabeth Vest of Virignia Beach and JoAnne Buracker of Sperryville.

He was predeceased by a. brother, Mack Dodson and a sister, Pearl Nadine Atkins.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Jan. 10 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 330. Josh Shifflett officiated.
